Our Opening Day
In 2016, after two years of planning and a $10 million investment, Stake Glass officially opened its purpose-built glass processing facility in Christchurch. Our vision was simple: to create a modern glass manufacturing business that would support the local construction industry and help meet the demands of a growing city.
The official opening was attended by the Rt Hon John Key, then Prime Minister of New Zealand, who commended Stake Glass on its tremendous "punt" to become a driving force for Christchurch. He recognised the confidence shown by the business and its contribution to helping strengthen the New Zealand economy.
Guests were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility, showcasing the investment, technology, and expertise that would become the foundation of Stake Glass.
A Commitment to Christchurch
The opening of Stake Glass was about more than launching a new business. It was a statement of confidence in Christchurch, its people, and its future.
Our name reflects the belief that we were putting a genuine "stake in the ground" and backing the region's ongoing growth. That belief remains as strong today as it was when we first opened our doors.

What began as a bold investment in Christchurch has grown into a trusted glass processing and supply business serving customers across New Zealand. Over the past decade, we've continued to invest in our people, technology, and capabilities while building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry partners.
As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary, we'd like to thank everyone who has been part of our journey. We're proud of how far we've come and excited about what the future holds for Stake Glass.
