Laminated glass is made by bonding two sheets of glass together with a plastic or resin interlayer. The standard interlayer thickness is 0.38mm, with thicker options available including 0.76mm, 1.14mm, and 1.52mm.
While laminated glass has a similar impact resistance to standard annealed float glass, it differs in the way it breaks. Rather than shattering into separate pieces, the glass remains bonded to the interlayer, helping to reduce the risk of injury. For this reason, laminated glass is widely used in applications where safety is a priority.
Laminated glass is classified as Grade A Safety Glass in accordance with AS/NZS 2208 and offers a range of additional benefits, including enhanced security, noise reduction, solar control, and up to 99% UV protection.

Toughened glass is up to five times stronger than standard annealed glass, offering the highest impact resistance. Toughened laminated glass does not shatter and spread when broken, instead it remains intact on its plastic or resin interlayer.
Therefore, the main benefits of Laminated Toughened Glass are its strength and performance under impact, preventing serious injury.
Tinted laminated glass is made from two sheets of tinted glass bound together with a plastic or resin interlayer. The most common tints include grey, bronze and green.
This type of glass absorbs solar energy, therefore reducing and helping control the amount of heat, visible light and ultraviolet rays that are transmitted through your windows and glass applications (79%-94% UV blocked).
White laminated glass is commonly known as translucent or opalescent laminated glass. It is entirely opaque, so you are not able to see through either side, however it does allow light to transfer through the glass.
An opaque interlayer provides white laminated glass with the appearance of sandblasted or etched glass, giving you a frosted laminated glass look.
Acoustic Laminated Glass is made from two sheets of glass permanently bonded together with one or more acoustic interlayer. The acoustic interlayer reduces noise by absorbing the sound energy and preventing the sound vibrations from travelling through the glass.
